McCorvey Companies is enhancing its security awareness training and testing program to increase engagement, reduce training time, and comply with evolving insurance requirements.
Starting January 1, 2025, we will begin sending simulated phishing emails to all users. These emails are modeled after real-world threats. As a user, you will have the option to report the email, ignore it, or interact with it by clicking a link. Here is what happens in each scenario:
- Report: If you successfully report the email using the "Report Message" methods outlined on the McCorvey Companies Email Security page, you will receive a congratulatory message from our system. Additionally, you will be entered into a monthly drawing to win a gift from the IT department.
- Ignore: If you choose to ignore the message, you will not be required to take additional training, but you will also not be entered into the gift drawing.
- Interact: If you interact with the email by clicking the link, you will be required to complete a brief 5-minute email security review. This review will be tailored to the specific email you interacted with and provide tips on email security. Please note that any interaction with a phishing simulation will remain confidential within the Technology Department. The purpose is to train, not to shame. If you fail several in a row, you may be required to complete additional training as required by our insurer.
Our goal is not to "trick" anyone but to raise awareness and prevent actual threat actors from deceiving you.
This program will replace the Cyberhoot training emails previously sent.
